I found this dog training video talking about the essentials for training your dog. It’s very basic, but a good intro to the subject.

Whether or not we really need to eat meat is one of the hottest topics in some circles.  Vegetarians such as my husband don’t eat any meat, while vegans avoid animal products of any kind (even milk, eggs, etc.).  I consider myself a flexitarian, which means that I eat meat on occasion — usually when we eat out.

On the other hand, some people, such as my dad, feel that meat is an integral part of any diet, and find it next to impossible to even conceive of avoiding meat.  My mom has recently decided to become a vegetarian, so my dad tries to compensate by using products that are supposed to simulate meat.  He hasn’t yet discovered how many wonderful things you can make if you get away from the preconceived notion of meat, veggies, and potatoes being part of every meal.

If you are trying to cook for someone who doesn’t eat meat, or if you are considering cutting meat out of your diet, taking a few cooking classes from a local culinary school can give you some ideas of what to make.  There are many cuisines that don’t include a lot of meat, so culinary arts institutes are the best resources if you need help on what to make.  You may also want to consult a few vegetarian cookbooks — there are quite a few good ones out there.

Ultimately, whether to eat meat is a personal decision.  Whether based on health or morals, there are many reasons why cutting meat out of your diet is beneficial.  But if even if you don’t agree, if someone you know or live with has made the decision, it is important to support them — even if that means learning to cook something a little different.

I would have to say that I love college.  It has opened up my mind to a large number of possibilities as to what I want to do with my life.  In fact, at this moment I don’t know exactly what I want to do, but it will be something that has to do with the public and their health – my area of specialty is sports fitness.

But before I can graduate, there are a few papers that I need to write.  They will be done over the next couple of years, so I have plenty of time to do them.  What I love the most though is that I get to choose the topics provided that they are related to my field of study.

So, this year, I am doing a paper on managing teams.  Specifically, it will be a study on the effects of good leadership on the effectiveness of a team captain to lead their team to victory.  I am actually partnering up with a psychology student to do the study as there are psychological aspects to it as well.

We still have to figure out some kind of metrics to measure our study and we will have to arrange to follow a couple of teams throughout the season to measure how they do.  It will be a lot of work, but it is certainly an interesting topic for me.  It will be interesting to see the final results.

keywords_2Are you searching for a job online? If so then you might have started to notice that you need to have a working knowledge of how keywords work if you want to find the right employment opportunities. There are two ways in which you’ll use keywords online:

  1. Entering keywords into job search engines. If you want to find out which jobs are available then you need to do a search for those jobs online. If you’re using the right keywords then you’ll get better results and have an easier time finding jobs to apply for.
  2. Including the right keywords in your resume. A lot of people choose to post their resumes online to assist them in getting a job. Your resume must have the right keywords if it’s going to let the right employers find you.

You’ll want to first identify the keywords that are right for the job that you want. Then you need to make sure that you include variations of those keywords to broaden your search. For example, if you want a job doing Tampa Search Engine Optimization then you may put that in your resume along with related phrases like seo Tampa and Florida search optimization. Use the right keywords to get the right job.
