These are a few good tips to keep in mind when trying to improve direct mail techniques. Although it is difficult to measure ROI for direct mail, we can rely on accurate mailing lists and call to action offers to increase the effectiveness of direct mail marketing. Another technique I have seen play a major role in how a direct mail is perceived is the use of plastic post card mailers. Unlike an over sized paper post card for example, the look and feel of a plastic card mailer is significantly different and can be personalized for each recipient. Along with personalizing the card mailer, multiple versions of each offer can be tailored to different niches. Plastic card mailers can also have an encoded magnetic strip for easy integration with an existing POS system and improved tracking.
