That is the definition of being a pedophile. The difference is that children cannot consent and in all circumstance are traumatized by the sexual attention. Presumably homo or heterosexual contact is desired by both partners. Otherwise this too is a crime. I think that there is room for sympathy towards pedophiles….they are sick. Most receive a traumatic sexual experience at a young age. This stops their sexual development, forever (as far as we know) locking them into sexual attraction to that age group. It isn’t surprising that many (dare I say most?) pedophiles aren’t doing adult sexual acts with young children, rather it take the form of youthful sexual acts, “playing doctor” and other semi-exploratory forms. That being said until a proven treatment is discovered the only thing we can do is lock them up for the safety of our children. Also on a side note this is why I am against registration of sexual criminals. If they aren’t rehabilitated, don’t let them out. If they are then we need to leave them alone. Many “addicts” or other such persons act out and brake their reconditioning (when it happens) due to stress. How many times do drug addicts or alcoholics relapse at times of stress. Things go badly, they need comfort, so they fall back on old vices. Again, if they are that big a risk, DON’T LET THEM OUT.

Children are minors, period. Thats why heterosexual statutory **** is illegal. So legally, the pedophile angle doesnt stand.
