Keywords and the Online Job Search
Filed Under Internet | Leave a Comment
Are you searching for a job online? If so then you might have started to notice that you need to have a working knowledge of how keywords work if you want to find the right employment opportunities. There are two ways in which you’ll use keywords online:
- Entering keywords into job search engines. If you want to find out which jobs are available then you need to do a search for those jobs online. If you’re using the right keywords then you’ll get better results and have an easier time finding jobs to apply for.
- Including the right keywords in your resume. A lot of people choose to post their resumes online to assist them in getting a job. Your resume must have the right keywords if it’s going to let the right employers find you.
You’ll want to first identify the keywords that are right for the job that you want. Then you need to make sure that you include variations of those keywords to broaden your search. For example, if you want a job doing Tampa Search Engine Optimization then you may put that in your resume along with related phrases like seo Tampa and Florida search optimization. Use the right keywords to get the right job.

When I set up my professional website for the first time, I had no idea how important it was to get a good web hosting provider — or how much providers could vary in the quality and service they provided.
So when I first set up my website, I was using a “free” hosting provider. I put free in quotes because they actually upsold you on virtually everything they could. Domain name registration cost $25 a year instead of $10 or less like most places. Also the maximum storage and bandwidth on the free accounts were minimal, and to purchase more was ridiculously expensive.
On top of it all, their email servers were blacklisted as spammers while I was with them, so my email was all getting sent to my clients’ junk mail folders, or even rejected outright. Not a good thing when you own a business and said business is dependent on your communication getting through.
After a year and some change, I decided it was time to transfer to a different (read: better) hosting company. I easily found one where I had a fancy hosting package that cost less than just the extra storage and bandwidth I was buying from the other provider. And if I want to upgrade to anything, such as dedicated hosting or another business hosting option, the pricing is still very reasonable.
This story ought to demonstrate how important it is to find a good web hosting provider from the beginning. Don’t settle for less, or sign up with a questionable company just because the services are “free.” Believe me, you’ll pay in other ways, whether that is overpriced peripheral services or crappy quality that threatens the success of your business.
