hearing-aid-dropped-in-toilet Though being a parent can be rewarding most of the time, sometimes it can be really frustrating. This is especially true when you have little children (under the age of 3) who don’t necessarily understand that they are making your life difficult when they really are.

The latest escapade that has made me reconsider my desire to be a parent just happened yesterday afternoon. You see, we have been potty training our two year old, Courtney, and for the most part it has been going alright. Sure, there have been more accidents than successes, but I think she is really getting the hand of things.

Yesterday was an especially good day and she only needed one diaper by mid-afternoon. I was feeling really proud of her until I noticed that the house was really quiet.

Too quiet.

As it turns out, she was playing in the bathroom and just as I made it to the bathroom door to see what she was doing, she dropped my hearing aid in the toilet. I made a mad dash to save it, but it was too late – it was flushed down the toilet.

I suppose this will make a good wedding story someday, but in the meantime, I am just frustrated. I guess on the bright side I won’t be able to hear her whine anymore, right?
