When I was a kid, my dad took me shopping for a Christmas present for my mom.  On our way back, he impressed upon me the idea of keeping it a secret, so that she wouldn’t know what her Christmas present would be.  So when we got back, I proudly told her, “I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s something to put your camera in!”

Unfortunately, that gave it all away.  It’s obvious from that statement that part of her present was a camera bag.  Unfortunately, it was also obvious that the other part of her present was a camera, since at the time she didn’t have one to put into a case in the first place!

All humor aside, a nice camera case – and a nice digital camera to go in it, if the person doesn’t already have one — is a great Christmas present to consider this holiday season.  You might also want to consider something helpful such as photography classes.  Last Christmas my best friend’s family gave her fiance a really nice DSLR camera, as well as a series of classes to learn how to use it.  Since cameras with manual settings can be kind of tricky to use, classes can be an especially thoughtful gift!
