Randall E inquired:

Given how much Obama and McCain seem to agree on issues like the bailout and the new FISA law, and given how unprecedented the issues are, isn’t it critical that the voters make an informed decision?

Only if you want the issues addressed.

Of course…I don’t think its really fair to 3rd party candidates that they don’t get the media spotlight equal to these other two.

The GOP and the Dems would never go for it, because then there would be a legitimate opportunity for a third party to take the White House and they need the two party system to keep control. Obviously they want their candidate to win, but if they lose they don’t want to lose out to a third party.

yes. It should be criminal to not allow it if there is enough public interest.

I don’t think they should be allowed. Just my opinion…

Any third party candidate who wishes to join the debates must have 15% of of voters behind them (polls).

I think they should happen but won’t. It would open up the perspective somewhat. Right now, the debates are on the phony images we have of Democrats and Republicans. Third parties would be more likely to really challenge the other candidates.

The independents3rd parties might as well just throw their ballot away and yes if they stand.

The spot light once ina while to see them in the spot light once ina while to see them in the spot light once ina while to see them in the independents3rd parties might as.

YES, anyone who is on the ballot should be up there. Maybe we wouldn’t have such “gridlock” if our broken two party system had other choices.

They definitely should. Perot got to debate back with Bush and Clinton, I don’t see why 3rd parties weren’t invited. The media has done an absolutely HORRIBLE job in presenting all candidates and all view points. American citizens should be ashamed of the press- all of it, not just the “liberal” press or “Fox.”

I only know about Barr, Nader, and McKinney because I researched them. I’d love to vote for them too, but I have to keep Obama out of office this time around. I personally despise democrats and republicans, I’d love to see a fresh perspective added to the debates.
