If McCain isn’t willing to participate in a debate that has been scheduled and agreed upon for some time, should Obama just take the free air time and debate the empty chair?

Since McCain can’t decide if he wants to be President or not, since he did “suspend” his candidacy, would it make much of a difference?

    He certainly can.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he lost the debate though.

McCain will lose fewer votes if he avoids the debate.

Whether McCain is present or not it will still be an ‘empty’ chair

McCain will be there. This question is tired and silly

He should stand up, act like a leader, and address us regarding the problems we face. He should lead, not hide out in DC.

I’ll take the chair as the winner of this.

He should debate Ron Paul. It would be great.

Actually, isn’t George Bush showing up to be a stand-in for McCain?

    There isn’t much difference.

Well I’d say at least the playing field would be level for obama–debating an empty chair would be about the same skill set.

The host of the debate (according to Headline News) said today that the debate will go on as scheduled even if McCain is not there

McCain will pick one of the two choices: He will say, “Call Me” and have his debate over the phone or he will say, “Not Present.” …
