What do you mean by full responsiblity? I answered your question with a question. I need examples.

If you take your kid to school and they don’t go in, you shouldn’t be charged with truancy. You raise your kids right and teach them right from wrong, but they are still human, they are going to make mistakes. Now if they mess up and you are allowing it, then yes, you should be responsible…ie, encouraging a fight, giving alcohol, etc. We can’t be responsible for everything our kids do.

Bring out Age limitations. As they grow older, children need to become more responsible so they will be ready to be on their own as adults. They must learn that there are consequences for their actions, and it is not just the parents that establish the rules, but it is the laws of society that they must learn to live with. Give examples of the “Age of Accountability in different societies through the ages”.

Ok… your parents should not have any responsibility if you decide to have *** and you or your partner get pregnant… You must provide your own insurance and raise your own child even at lets say 15… TMI?

    well…
i believe that parents shouldn’t have complete control and responsibility over their children. First of all, because their children should have some discernment in what they do..
and plus the kids should also be responsible for their actions…
    for example…
Johnny walks into Game-Stop and grabs a Xbox 360… stuffs it under his jacket and walks out without paying for it.
The next day he gets busted. Before he is taken away.. they ask him for anything he would like to say… he says “Its all my parents fault…” they ask where his parents are and they take his parents to jail instead of him. Now is that fair…? That they have full responsibility over their child’s actions… they are responsible for everything he does…weather it be good or bad…?
No … so parents shouldn’t have full responsibility over their child… the kids gotta learn responsibility sometime… and the sooner the better…
I hope this helps and could you tell me how the debate goes???

At some point, a child’s behavior is out of even his parents’ hands. Parents do, howeve, need to take the responsibility for disciplining their children and getting them any help that they may need.
