   Wait,let me think…ok It is painfully obvious that many have forgotten their history lessons. The programs initiated by FDR were in response to a economic depression that was already occurring, trying to jump-start the economy once again from scratch. (Hoover wasn’t criticized for not foreseeing the 1929 crash; rather, it was his inaction for not doing anything to at least remedy some of the effects of the steep slide.) One could also refer back to the S & L crisis of the 80s as proof how bailouts tend to encourage riskier behavior by investors, especially when such bailouts do not come with any stringent oversight and tighter regulation of further activities on the behalf of the recipients
