Have you seen what politicians who are running for office have started doing in order to avoid the more traditional debate? These politicians are turning to the internet instead. And instead of going face to face with their opponents they are doing video blogs. Then they simply post these video blogs on YouTube.

Now if you are anything like me, then you might just be seeing a little bit of a problem with this whole scenario. After all, what would Abraham Lincoln or Stephan Douglas have to say about this? Does this signal the beginning of the end of the great orators? Sure you can both attack and defend via a video blog, but it is not spontaneous. It is the off the cuff format of political debate that allows us to see who the candidates actually are.

With video blogging the candidates get an opportunity to polish their presentation to the point that it is really more like a television commercial than anything else. By the time they are done with these presentations we have not had any kind of chance to see who they really are. Hopefully these video blogs are not a sign of changes to come. Hopefully the good old fashioned American tradition of political debates will survive.

I really think that video blogs are a great way for politicians to get their voice out there, and for less cost than it takes to run commercials.

I love video blogging. I think it is very interesting. I also think debates are better because the people debating can get more information out and a shorter amount of time.

Video Blogs are great. I follow a couple of different video blogs online. You can also do these types of blogs quickly and you don’t have to worry about the grammar being perfect.

I like watching a lot of video poker bloggers. In many cases, they are much more interesting than a written blog. Mike the Mouth does a great video blog, although I guess it really isn’t a blog so much as an online show.
