Why does a presidential candidate change his mind like this? He could have said “I have not decided yet”… But he didn’t.

Can you explain?

I predict John McCain will need surgery tomorrow to remove the foot from the mouth.

i’m not sure i understand the question.

He was tired of hearing Obama whining that he would have to debate himself.

He left .got their ***** on the right track and now ready to debate, don’t believe the media it’s soooo pro obama

Because if he didn’t, his campaign was over. He went to D.C. and did and said absolutely nothing and was called on it so he has to debate.

Can you explain when did oompa loompas get so tall?

He read my answers here and decided he’d be called a chicken if he didn’t show up.

yes he went to try and stop a “quick fix’ with this sucky bail out bill….it will not work. If we had just let the free market play out, we would have made out better in the long run. Believe me, there is nothing McCain likes better than a great debate!

There is no real way to explain McCain and the things he does. Some will get on here and bring up something that Obama or Biden did or said 100 years ago as a way of defending McCain but take it for what it is- B. S.

    Thanks John,
    Country First,
    Obama/Biden 08

Sound like you read only headlines, maybe you should try reading a whole article.

Probably because his advisers are now saying,”Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea for you to do that, it didn’t work. You better go to the debates. The people aren’t as stupid as you think they are.”

He said that he wouldn’t go to the debate unless some significant progress had been made on the bailout bill

Some significant progress HAS been made, so he’s going to do the debate

    Seems pretty simple to me…

He doesn’t really want the debate, his advisors told him he better or he would look like an idiot.

His grandstanding to try to manipulate the Obama campaign failed so he is trying to save face.

McCain has changed his mind so much lately it is hard to say. My opinion is that he was advised to keep the debate because you can be sure his campaign is keeping track of every negative comment about his original comment not to debate.

That is his privilege to do so….and he was under a lot of pressure. Anyway, he probably had this debate won anyway. Obama is the one who should be worrying. I’m sure he wanted to impress with all his pre-scripted answers. He’s a good speaker, but take that teleprompter away or his notes and he’s a little lost. John McCain main interest is the country…..not who he can impress. I’m glad he has made the time, under the crisis we are in, to attend the debate. He is returning to Washington following. That’s a leader!

most voters wanted the debate to go on as planned. sure, it was political. It gets Barry off is back. Now we get to listen to Barry trip over his tongue!

However, I think Barry’s refusal to suspend the campaign was wrong and 100% political. McCain was doing his job and Barry was still acting like Mr. Candidate. If the rolls had been reversed and Barry had called for a suspension of the campaign, I would have been upset at McCain!

Because John McCain doesn’t have the charisma of Obama. He was just afraid.
