Rebecca inquired:

They barred Dennis Kucinich from participating in the debates in New Hampshire and Nevada. He got a court order which allowed him to participate in the Nevada debate. Then it was overturned by a higher court. Why are they insisting on not allowing him to partipate in the debates? Are they afraid that if he did he might become a leading candidate?

    For the media coverage.
The debates for the same reason they had decent and unbiased media coverage.
The strength these candidates could gain if they kept ron paul out of some of the media is scared of the media coverage.

wow…that’s creepy. You’ve peeked my interest though. Now I have to check him out. My only guess is he has something worth saying. They do the same to Ron Paul.

Hey I just checked out his site and he is the Democrats Ron Paul. And WOW! His wife is gorgeous. She would be THE MOST BEAUTIFUL 1st lady ever! She could be a model. I’m not saying her looks are whats important but geez..look at the rest of them..lol! Plus check out his wifes info. She sounds like she’d beat out Hillary for sure! Heck, even her hubbie :)

Kucinich is one of the few candidates with integrity. Candidates like that are not supported by the corporate-controlled media and party structure in place.

The DNC likes to narrow the field for us and navigate the party platform for us, as opposed to letting all voices within the party be heard. Same thing with Mike Gravel.

Yes, they can be loopy at times, but they bring different views to the table, many of which the majority of Democrats support. Kucinich consistently got good responses at the debates, however, the DNC doesn’t want him taking time from their chosen super stars.

The corporate owned media have already made their decisions on who they want to be President. They would keep Ron Paul out of debates too, but since he’s beating Thompson and Gulianni who they love, they can’t justify it.

There is a benchmark of support that you need to be able to participate.

Possibly because they don’t want everyone to turn the TV off? He is not a serious contender.

most debates only want seious contenders in it kucinch doesn’t stand a chance

Kucinich participated in earlier debates. It didn’t help his popularity. By limiting the candidates who have no chance, viewers are able to spend more time evaluating the candidates that do.

They are afraid he’ll get stepped on or blow away in a light breeze.

Those debate locations have to pay for insurance just like anybody else.

The debates are supposed to become president not someone who has no chance to be between people agree with or support his postions on most issues the debates are supposed to become president not someone who may actually have chance to become president not someone who has no.
The debates are supposed to become president not someone who may actually have chance at all.
The debates are supposed to be between people agree with or.

    I like the first answer.

I am a conservative, but from the little research I have done of Kucinich, he appears to be a genuine democrat. I see the other democrats as something else (far more dangerous). Very pro privacy, pro constitution, except (what i don’t like) for universal health and very anti gun, and some other rather unconstitutional measures.

They don’t want him because he makes the other “democrats” look like privacy invading (patriot act) war mongers (how they all voted for the war).

Well, only the candidates and or parties with the most money get in on the debates. This is a multi- party system, there are a lot more people running for president than what the media allows us to see, it all comes down to who can pay for the time to have their voice and platform be heard….mmmmm gotta love the equality in that! If the powers that be were afraid of what he stood for or what he was saying he would just be assassinated ala King Jr, and a couple of Kennedy’s.
